This catalogue covers the countries on the Mediterranean coast from Morocco in the west to Egypt in the east, and countries southward on the eastern side down to Kenya, Ruanda etc. plus the Indian Ocean islands south to Madagascar.

Almost four years since the last edition, mean nearly one hundred pages have been added, another two thousand illustrations, (still all in black and white), and about six thousand additional prices, hence the increase in cover price.; However the publisher mentions that the problems in Ruanda, Sudan and other countries have stemmed the flow of new issues from them, and the more conservative issuing policies of countries such as Mauritius and Seychelles..

Prices have been revised throughout, especially for British Commonwealth countries where the weak pound against the euro has had its impact.
